My name is Martin Carpella<\/strong>, but everyone has been calling me “Capi<\/strong>” ever since. I was born in 1981 and I started playing around with computers around 1990. I’m a Software Engineer by heart, but have transitioned into a Product Architect role a few years ago, driving extensive back-end development in a very challenging setting (in the positive sense).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I graduated from the University of Applied Sciences Hagenberg<\/a> in July 2004 as software engineer, specialization “Software Engineering for Medical Purposes”. My current occupations are hardly associated with medical purposes, though. I also graduated with a master’s degree in “Information-Engineering & -Management” from the same university in 2007.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since then I’ve been through a lot of different tech stacks and environments. My preferred development platforms\/languages are Java, C#, C++\/CLI, C++<\/s>1)<\/sup>. I also know at least the basics of most scripting languages like Perl, Python, PHP. Still I prefer strongly typed languages for larger projects. I am currently playing around with SvelteKit, TypeScript, and Python in my pet projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a hobby, I am playing around with all sorts of technology, sometimes being a little late to the party. I also monitor “everything” using Nagios and I am obsessed with backups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
