Google reader indeed is a good choice in my opinion. I started using it myself around January this year. I like it. I used to have a desktop software from JetBrains which I really liked, but as it was Windows only and I also switch between multiple PCs together with operating systems, I was searching for some web-based alternative. Google Reader really is nice.

I’ll have to have a look, there is a possibility to have your shared items displayed in your WordPress blog.
